Join us for WFC’s Special Program for the 81st Anniversary of the A-bombing “Learn about the realities of War and Nuclear Weapons

This year, the World Friendship Center is honored to host this event with Hibakusha Chieko Kiriake san and hear her testimony with time for Q&A. English translation will be provided.

Chieko Kiriake san was born in 1929. She experienced the atomic bombing as a 15-year-old student in the 4th year of all-girls high school, 1.9km from the hypocenter. She emphasizes that “Peace will not come by simply waiting for it. We must try to reach this state with all we can and work together to protect it, or else it will slip away.”
