Overnight Stay at WFC
Guestrooms
The World Friendship Center has 4 guestrooms with a shared bath that are available for visitors coming to Hiroshima to learn about its history, the A-Bombing, and its reconstruction and focus on peace.
We have two “western-style” guest rooms with wooden floors, and elevated western-style beds. Each of these rooms has room for up to two guests. The other two rooms are traditional Japanese tatami-mat rooms with sliding doors, featuring traditional Japanese futons placed on the floor. One of these rooms is a triple room for up to three people, and the other is a double room for up to two people. Sliding doors between the rooms allow these two rooms to be combined into a family room for up to 5 people.
All rooms open onto a balcony.
The rooms share a bathroom. The bathroom has a large sink area and a separate shower/bathtub. A separate room has a toilet and a small wash sink.
Breakfast
All lodging includes a complementary simple western style breakfast. Breakfast consists of an assortment of cereals, yogurt/milk, fresh fruit, toast with assorted jams, plus a selection of juices, tea and milk. Breakfast is served in our breakfast room/lounge at 8AM.
The breakfast room/lounge is available for use by residents, unless it is being used for Hibakusha talks, or other occasional special events at the WFC.

Lodging FAQs
Yes. Our guest house hosts are usually Americans that are serving as directors of the World Friendship Center. English is our primary language. In rare cases that alternate hosts are serving our guests, they always speak at least basic English.
All of our tours are provided by English speaking locals. Hibakusha talks are either in English, or an English-speaking interpreter is provided who is often a family member or close friend.
Yes. All our guest rooms feature individually controllable HVAC units to provide a comfortable temperature to your liking.
Please let us know when you expect to arrive. Our hosts also live in the guest house and can usually accommodate any arrival time up to about 10PM.
If you arrive prior to 3PM, your room may not yet be available, but you are welcome to drop off your luggage with us so you can explore Hiroshima while we prepare your room.
Check-out time is 10AM. Bags may be left in our guest house for later collection if you plan to do more touring before leaving our city.
No, to keep our prices as low as possible we request payment in cash on departure.
No deposit is required, and should a travel or personal emergency occur, you may cancel at any time. But as a courtesy to others that want to use our lodging, we ask that you only reserve a room if you intend to use it, and that you cancel at least 2 weeks ahead of time if your plans change.
Yes! Our guest house is in a typical mixed residential/retail/commercial neighborhood in Hiroshima, and there are many small restaurants that serve locals, and accommodate tourists. Our hosts can recommend a wide variety of their local favorites.
Local favorites including Okonomiyaki, Teppanyaki, Ramen, and Sushi are all available within a short walk. Being establishments that serve locals, English is not common, but with an online translator and a little patience you will get a good meal that surpasses the more touristy restaurants in the busier sections of town.
We have also found that despite the language barrier, the friendly staffs work hard to help international visitors experience the best of Japanese cuisine.
There is a coin-laundry facility available within a short walk. While we do have a small laundry machine and a small dryer which may be used for a similar fee when not needed for guest house operations (check with hosts prior to use), if you have larger/multiple loads, or if our machines are in use, you will need to use the coin laundry.
Luggage forwarding can be arranged and paid for at the nearby 7-11 convenience store. We have forms to fill out that you can take to the convenience store. The address of the closest 7-11 is 12-3 Funairi Nakamachi, Naka Ward, Hiroshima, 730-0842.
